Special Issue "Phytochemical Profile, Antioxidant and Antimicrobial Potential of Plant Extracts"
Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
The use of medicinal plants for the treatment of various diseases is associated with folk medicine in many different parts of the world. The prospective study and phytochemical profiling of extracts to identify the main classes of chemical constituents and compounds has been carried out by several researchers. The therapeutic potential of plant extracts for the treatment of various diseases has long been studied, with particular interest in the discovery of extracts with different biological activities. In this context, the search for plants with antimicrobial activity is important, mainly due to the increasing number of microorganisms that are resistant to existing treatments. Likewise, the search for plants with antioxidant action is of great interest, since oxidants are associated with factors relating to DNA mutation and protein oxidation, and thus contribute to the development of several diseases.
